TYWI’s Writeathon was an annual event that brought young writers from across the world together to learn from published authors in structured workshops, engage and submit to partnered literary magazines, create work to win in our contest, present at open mics, and feel the warmth of the writing community! The Writeathon is one of our most prized memories here at TYWI. Here’s a flashback into the past three we have hosted. While we don’t have any writeathons planned in the near future, we love to look back at this wonderful period of connection and community!
Our first ever writeathon was an exciting time for TYWI, where our programs were filled with exciting opportunities such as:
An unforgettable 2-day event that kicked off with a Keynote speech from Chloe Gong, author of These Violent Delights, various panels from New York Times Bestselling authors, workshops with skilled writers, write-ins, literary magazine submissions, and our own contest. This year, we introduced tiers, where our sponsors, Owlcrate and Book of the Month auctioned off multiple-month subscriptions to their products.
